well, even the assumption (the "I bet") came across as racist. but i guess
we agree on that point, so... movin' on... :)

snipping the rest of this, not because i don't think it's relevant, but just
to observe netiquette (wanted to make that point explicitly).
i'll admit that i have no idea (zilch, nada, zip) of what it takes to get a
law degree specifically. your points are well taken, but from my admittedly
naive perspective, success in school (in a general sense) does not
automatically equate to success in the real world. it may not be a fair
analogy, but i have to stick with what i know... a number of college
football players who are predicted to tear it up in the NFL fail miserably
because it's a whole different world. my CF analogy (flawed tho it may be)
was merely my attempt to state that success in one venue (academia) does not
automatically equate to success afterward.

i'm -not- trying to insinuate that his accomplishments at harvard are
meaningless. a degree, any degree, is a positive thing, IMO. it
illustrates the ability to meet deadlines, follow instruction, prioritize,
and obviously, to succeed. but, to reiterate, it's a controlled environment
that (IMO) doesn't serve to conclusively indicate that those same successes
will be attained in the real world.

I have failed as much as I have succeeded. But I love my life. I love my
wife. And I wish you my kind of success.
