Our story isn't quite as good, but I think it's cute!

With our first kid, wife got so focused on the labor and contractions that
she had me take her to the hospital way too early.

They said "aw heck it's gonna be many hours, go home and come back when
you're ready".
Then she was concerned about going back too soon.
She took a warm shower and a nap.
Then hit the "panic button".

I timed the contractions, said something like #$%^%, got her into the car,
and drove down the freeway to the hospital at about 80mph with the hazard
flashers on. (If a cop stopped me, was gonna say "get us to the hospital,
then write me a ticket )<g>!)

Parked right in front of the door, ran in, staff ran out to get her.
By the time I got back from parking, they had already taken her into the
delivery room.
We barely made it there.
