The more I have been forced to think about this issue during this thread, the more I am in favor of the bill. I get a kick out of the attitude of 'its not going to save money, so lets not do it'. I would hazrd a gues that we don't save any money by putting most criminals in jail, so maybe we should not put those people in jail.
So, just so I am clear. You guys are perfectly OK with the state giving part or your taxes to someone who you know will turn around and buy drugs with that money? If a mother tests positive for drugs too many times and loses her benefits, the moneyy the state would save by not paying her the benefits should cover the costs of putting the kids into foster care. Or does it cost more to care for the kids since they are in a different home?
