I love the general indictment of the entire Western world under the phrase
"our crimes". Or maybe the writer just means Europeans? Either way. The
Italian mafia is a criminal enterprise, yet somehow this idiotic writer
manages to indict everyone in his farce of an accusation.

Somalia is a failed state where the vacuum was filled by gun-toting petty
warlords, not altogether different from Afghanistan prior to the Taliban.
The same process that happened in Afghanistan has happened, is happening, in
Somalia. And for all the bullshit excuses about "protecting their coastal
waterways", such thugs have no excuse for kidnapping civilians aboard
sailboats and oil tankers that are merely passing by, far out in
international waters.

The truth is that piracy is a commercial enterprise in Somalia, and it has
to stop. Someone needs to police the coastline of Somalia, prevent illegal
dumping, and wipe out the thugs preying on innocent vessels.
