Both of my sons were premmies. Both had RSD. My oldest was 3 months early and weighed less than two pounds. Both survived with few problems after receiving treatment and are now healthy, happy adults. My nephew had this problem too. It seems really scary, but most kids do fine. Most of the research into this disease was funded by Jackie Kennedy after she lost a child to it.
