We're already cooperating with the current very weak government in Yeman, and using the Saudis as a proxy. Let the Saudis handle it.
At the same time look at what the formula is for AQ - find a place with a very weak or non-existant government / or one that is in total sympathy with AQ. Move in and set up camps. Give off the image that they are there to liberate/protect the local moslems. Impose extremely strict Sharia law. Train terrorists to attack AQ's enemies. Rince, lather repeat... In essence if we start looking for countries that fit within AQ's formula and help them before AQ gets fully entrenched, we can prevent AQ from gaining a foothold.
