As long as population continues to grow, and as long as populations
continue moving from rural into cities, I think real estate will
easily continue to be a solid long term growth investment. The more
crowded this planet gets, the more value people will find in having
their own slice of it, and having that slice be in a desirable
location.

As more and more people fight to acquire a home, the higher the prices
will go. We are in a very serious dip now, but it will go back up.

Also - I think it's easy to get caught up in the emotion of what
happening in the country and think it's all gloom and doom. There is
a PHENOMENAL amount of opportunity out there right now. I know right
now you feel that you're on the wrong side of that opportunity, but it
still exists.

I personally think that in my lifetime there may NEVER be another
opportunity to buy real estate and get into the market as great as
there has been for the last year and a half. The stock market is
healing, the real estate market is too, and will continue to do so.

I think alot of people are panicking and getting out of homes just
because they are upside down. Those same people have a good chance of
driving by that same house ten years later, seeing it selling for WAY
more than their "upside down" value and cursing themselves for not
sticking in it.

I have no idea what the specifics of your situation are though, so
really that all may be completely irrelevant to you.
