Oh, and I forgot the follow up article where the original study author
responds to Nate and there is some further discussion about research

And while I still think it was a hack job, I should note that I really
appreciate that the author of the study responded to Nate's criticism.
I don't think much of the study, but the behavior is certainly classy.
