>From what I have read and heard, there were definitely shortcuts taken in order to save money on building the rig. This shouldn't be a surprise. Like you said, it's greed. This is were gov't should be doing its job. Businesses aren't going to police themselves. After you factor in political favors, campaign contributions, and pure cronyism it looks like the government isn't going to police anything either.
