Nope.  The Dixiecrats were active in the election of 1948.  A few
Democrats, notably Strom Thurmond and Jesse Helms left the Democratic
party for the Republican party in the 60s, but that had nothing to do
with the Dixiecrats, and neither did Woodrow Wilson, who was dead long
before anyone even coined the phrase.
