It was interesting to see how the detonations kind of echoed historical
events. There were a flurry of Soviet and US tests around 1962, for
instance. 1967 seemed to be a banner year for testing in the US for some
reason....did the 6 day war play into that at all maybe?

I expected more tests in the 80's than I saw. It was at least mildly
comforting to note that as we got closer to modern times, the detonations
dwindled. I remember France being the lone tester for several years and
catching the bulk of the grief from the anti-nukers around the mid 1990's.

I wonder how many of those tests were hydrogen bombs?
