I've had my Dell Precision M6300 for about 2 years now I think.

It's CPU, a 2.8ghz Intel X900 Core 2 Duo was the most powerful process
dell offered on this laptop at the time. It's still pretty damn
powerful for a laptop I think :) This CPU was like a $1000 upgrade on
top of the standard price of the laptop.

The WUXGA screen (true HD) with its 1920x1200 resolution was a pricey
upgrade too, 2 years ago.

And I also had them throw in a nice video card while I was at it, an
nVideo Quadro FX 1600M with 512MB of memory. Just in case I wanted to
do some gaming.

It came with Windows XP but I upgraded to Windows 7 late last year.

This was 2 years ago. Before the budget cuts hit ;)

I'm glad I had them get me something powerful because if I'd
half-assed it I'd still be stuck with it for a couple more years, like
it or not. As it is, I like it. As much as I like any laptop (I have
a strong preference for a regular keyboard and my 24" monitor), and
the laptop isn't particularly light and portable :)
