The FDA does not reverse a drug based on cost, but on efficacy.

So the fact that it is $8000 or $8 per week is moot.

They are more interested in: does the drug do what it is claimed it does,
and do the side effects grossly outweigh any usefulness (and is there a
better option with less drastic side effects).

If it is the only solution, and the side effects are reasonably acceptable
(so that a reasonable person would choose the side effect over the initial
condition) they will leave it on the market.
