How is it cramming anything down anyone's throats? IF I were to marry another man, how would that effect your marriage (assuming you are married for sake of argument)? Just because something is part of someone's moral code doesn't mean that it is right. Stoning was once part of the Christian moral code. How do the Christians...especially those who are against gay marriage...feel about the girl in Iran who will probably get stoned to death for the adultery charge? How do you feel about these honor killings. They are part of their moral code. There a lot of things that are done as part of someone's moral code that we would consider barbaric, yet why would their moral code be any less moral than your moral code and why would your moral code be any less moral than mine? According to the logic of the homophobic right, a honor killing or a stoning is a pretty moral thing to do. As would slavery be as that was once part of their faith's moral code as you could morally sell someone into slavery.
The point being that why should I, as someone who don't not follow your faith, be forced to follow your moral code? That violates my religious rights. -----Original Message----- From: Sisk, Kris [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, August 31, 2010 5:07 PM To: cf-community Subject: RE: interesting opinion piece on Beck and the teabagging party My point here was that cramming gay marriage down people's throats was the wrong way to go about getting it allowed. Scott's point was that sometimes that's the only way to get the right thing done. Your point seems to be that not getting married isn't as bad as slavery. Fair enough, but it has nothing to do with either my point or Scott's counter point and comes off as being nothing more than an inflammatory remark. Mayhap you should take a few deep breaths and maybe count slowly to 10 between posts? -----Original Message----- From: Sam [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, August 31, 2010 3:58 PM To: cf-community Subject: Re: interesting opinion piece on Beck and the teabagging party You're saying not having a marriage certificate equates to slavery? I'm guessing either you don't mind slavery or that certificate means a real lot to you. You can have mine, it's just a piece of paper to me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology-Michael-Dinowitz/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:326477 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
