*I'm* laughing at the idea that we're "at war". I mean, we are,
technically, but it's all been rather lame and murky since Iraq. "Go
forth, and shop!".

I mean, I get it, but I'd rather we were making bombs and rationing
gas and sugar and shit, vs being urged to consume "for the country".
I'm illogical that way.

As for the "public figure" stuff, that's one of the reasons I never
became all super famous (LOL). Made me sick to see folk hounded like
that.

What bugs me, is people, like you and I, who have their heads on
*mostly* straight about shit, sorta lose it when they see an
opportunity to stick it to the "opposition".

Are you *really* advocating that "public figures" should have less of
an expectation of privacy than everyday blokes like you and I? I
mean, I can see the whole
some-famous-comedian-cannot-sue-you-for-making-fun--er,-slander-"fair-use"-type-of-deal,
but it should be legal to publish their would-normally-be-private
information?
That's still an area of law that we're hammering out, and *especially*
with the internet, and the coming revolution (some think we're there
already, but we ain't even close yet), this is some serious shit...
and I dislike seeing attitudes that are pro-government secrets, and
anti-personal privacy.

It's just that whole sorta "become the monster you fight" type of deal
for me, with what you're saying. "Good for the goose is good for the
gander", "one bad apple", yadda yadda. Kindasorta.

I'm so crazy backwards about things though, I don't have any write--
er, right to criticize, but I do love to chew the cud every now and
again.

Chew chew.

Damn. Now I'm freaking hungry.

/me wanders off to raid the crock pot
