I've spoken to the credit card company and explained the situation and they are
trying to get in contact with 3com because a refund has not shown up. I hate
when this type of thing happens.

Oy.

I don't know -- Call up your credit card company, refuse the bill, and
explain why. If all else fails, maybe head to the Better Business Bureau?
