In Illinois, the person who rear ends is automatically at fault...any camera
would show that the cop was recklessly close...especially on the highway.
At that range, the dash cam wouldn't be able to see anything in front of the
lead car.

FWIW - Many police vehicles have cameras in them.  I doubt the judge will
rule in favor of someone slamming brakes.  There are plenty of cases where
the brake slammer has been found guilty of wreckless driving, despite what
the tailgater was doing.
