Nah, playing music is as good or better than attending as an audience member. I've just bitten the bullet and am starting weekly guitar/song writing lessons next week. I haven't performed publicly in years and years and that was always as part of vocal groups. I think it is about time I get an instrument down and get out to jam with folks. I also just started my 4.5 year old daughter in a group music class called Junior Jams where she can learn about a bunch of different instruments, learn rhythm patterns and learn how to play with other kids in a group. Going to be great fun.
