Sex with multiple partners kills a lot more monogamous marriages than it does open marriages because in the first it is cheating - a breaking of trust, and in the second it is a spreading of joy. Also, folks in open marriages take fewer risks re: disease than those who sneak around and cheat.
That being said, those who are cold and selfish shouldn't whine when their spouses seek comfort elsewhere...stupidly or not.
