Of course, Bachmann is not known as a scholar on this particular topic.

She proved that with her statements about the founding fathers working
tirelessly to end slavery. Um, not so much.

As to her recent statement, I read it directly as a slap at Obama,
somehow blaming him for the tragic state of traditional nuclear
families in the African American community (and through all
communities in fact), and a typical "a little loose on the facts"
statement more about her base's feelings and truthiness than truth.
