Wonder how many states restrict food purchases with public assistance. Seems like some states think there is too much free spending ( http://www.christopherpearson.org/?page=8&articlemode=showspecific&showarticle=29 ). I remember hearing a NPR story years ago about families on public assistance. Every year, these families were required to get 30 minutes of training on nutrition and voter registration. According to the expert, half of the 30 minutes was spent on the voter registration component.
