Those in the Tea Party Caucus, like Bachmann have said they will nto vote to increase the debt ceiling. Its hard to counter the 60 votes they carry. The biggest problem we have right now is raising the debt ceiling and by being stubborn assholes, the Tea Party Caucus is stopping that from getting done. They have a list of demands that is even causing issues for Boehner. That is why I blame the Tea Party. Lets raise the debt ceiling now and discuss cuts to spending and raising taxes when its done. > > President Obama could pass Obamacare over a vocal majority, but you somehow > think a deal can't done because of a vocal minority. Again, the caucus carries 60 votes...25% of the Republicans in the House are in the Tea PArty Caucus...even though a minority, its still a big number to overcome in terms of votes. > > One more thing, you say we need the voice of the house. So why blame one side initially? I am not blaming one side initially, I am blaming one side now. The side that, for the first time, wants to attach provisions to raising the debt ceiling. I am not disputing that we need to reign in spending, but what the Tea Party Caucus is doing is effecting extortion. They are threatening to let the the US credit rating downgrade or force the US to default on some of its debt unless all their demands are met. Once again, they refuse to compromise..at all. -- Scott Stroz --------------- You can make things happen, you can watch things happen or you can wonder what the f*&k happened. - Cpt.
