At 600 bucks you will need to build the system yourself. The lowest cost
gaming systems from boutique vendors is around 1200 from what I was
researching a few days ago.

The CPU should still be valid, but check here for the best graphics card to
see if that has changed. I believe ATI released some new cards.

There are others, but I have read that the Toms Hardware guides produce
systems that are very stable and get the job done.

You can also go over the 600US and grab one of the new X51 systems from
ALienware, but that means no upgradeability.
