There have been alarming laws signed under a Democratic president as well.
Obama isn't a Republican, and that law allowing the indefinite arrest of US Citizens was passed by him. However, the Democratic party certainly is not making an all out attack on women's rights, and doesn't push a religious government agenda. I think what is needed is an educated electorate.
