fb rocks. i use it for business (new sites), pleasure (Friends, family, fun-times, cool pictures, news gathering, etc), entertainment (following some cool industry peeps, rags, etc), see a lot of twitter stuff that makes it through to fb feed.
personal and, close friends and family lists that are very content specific. i control the content, so if i see someone that is white noise as someone called it, boom , you are gone and i havent offended you. immediate dispersion of information, news, good stuff, bad stuff, cries for help to everyone you know... ubiquitously, and instantaneously, most times. very cool, helpful and useful. if your close friends subscribe to your news feed, they get it on their phones, and if its a smart phone (esp, the iphone) a nice little push notification. location aware friend notices. new clients and new money for me. why not love that. easier to communicate than using email, chat, all in one. no question what someones email address is, just go to facebook. you now they are checking it. keep up with old friends long-gone, but sadly gone. i cant tell you how many friends have reconnected and remembered both why the were, and why they arent, and why they should still be, and are. if you are a not-so-social person, i wouldnt expect you to get it. most geeks arent. google plus seems to be the place most of those people are... and that's fine. i think im highly social, therefore i get it. those who are, that i am friends with are the same way. we use it to manage sports events, parties, fucking everything, its perfect. and then afterwards, we can share images, videos, etc of all those things afterwards. remind me again what's not to like about it?? facebook has enriched my life unlike many other things. and again, i control the content, it is what i make it. i never see game invites, holier than thou and inspirational image bullshit, or anything of the like. it is what i make it, and i have made it rock for me.
