I make constant lists.

Getting interrupted, sadly, is part of my current job.

But getting back on track as soon as possible is vital to getting my own
work done.

I make a gross list at the start of the week, with 3 or 4 things I _have_
to get done that week.
Every morning, before I start working, I make a list of 2 or 3 things I
_have_ to get done that day.
Every night, I check off the items for the day and for the week that got
finished.

as the day goes on, I have a running list of individual tasks. some are 5
minute tasks, some are 3 hour tasks.

Every hour, on the hour, I stop whatever I am doing, and check to make sure
I am working on the right task. I will close out of the current task
(saving all notes, and closing all open files and browser windows), and
pick up the correct task.

and every 2 hours I take a 5-10 minute break, stand up and walk out of my
cube, and talk to someone, or get a drink of water or a soda.

And on the days that I just CANNOT get on track on the things I have to be
doing, I pick up another TYPE of task that needs to be done. If coding
isn't coming easy, I document. If I cannot concentrate on task lists, I
look at design flaws. If css isn't flowing, I code a little widget.

And on days where I cannot focus at all, I do data entry.
