How can they not be aware?  It has been publicized in the media who is
giving to the tea party.

I'm not sure that the "public" is generally aware of funding, or even of the
real messages these organizations are putting out.

I'd also say that, personally for me, as long as the message is obviously
well thought out and not flirting with the edges of acceptable behavior and
tone, I'm willing to listen to it. I'd like to think that I have a fairly
accurate bullshit meter. Most important really is the ability to tell when
you need to research a wild claim before automatically buying into it,
rather then simply drinking from it's source.
