No...I would have loved to have gone.  Never could afford the trip.
Pennsic was actually instigated by one of my squire brothers.  I was squired
to the late Duke Sir Andrew of Seldom Rest.  One of my squire brother was
king of Atlantia and he had declared war on the kingdom of the East.  He
never got a response back from the King of the East.  Several years later,
he move to New York, fought and won a crown tourney.  He was going through
the old paperwork and found this declaration of war from the King of
Atlantia.  He signed it and sent it back to the King of Atlanta.  He
essentially declared war on himself.  Thus Pennsic was born.

I did, however, participate in the first 3 Gulf Wars(in Gulfport, MS) and
the first 2 War of the Pearls (in Pearl,MS).  There is nothing like the
adrenaline rush of a field battle when you have 300-400 fighters on the
field of battle lined up against each other in a shield wall...shield to
shield, then braking off evenuallyinto individual combat...what a rush....ad
one hell of a workout.
