Christie is pandering for money.  It was a "just in case"  move just in
case enough voting machine switch Romney votes for Obama to win.

Anyone who follows politics shouldn't be surprised.  It's what politicians
do.

There is a large contingency of conservatives who do not like
Christie, particularly his stance on gun control (Of course, they don't
have to govern a state with Paterson in it).

Personally, I think that the Republicans will never be able to get anyone
in NJ who is more conservative than Christie so they might as well be happy
with it.  Same for Senator Scott Brown and MA.
