<cf_not_legal_advice /> Wow. In Florida, use of deadly force is legal only in the presence of a threat to life or a threat of great bodily harm to you or people around you. And they have a "legal test" for it. 1: Is there a verbal or implied threat. 2: Is there the means for the perp to carry out the threat. 3: Are you honestly in "fear" of your life.
Florida also recognizes "forcible felonies" for which deadly force may be used to stop the commission of: sexual assault, armed robbery, arson, and about 9 others. The funniest one is treason. Also, once the act has been committed, you can't do anything. So, you can shoot the guy who's shooting up a playground. But once he stops, you can't shoot him anymore. > -----Original Message----- > From: Justin Scott [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Friday, June 14, 2002 4:09 PM > To: CF-Community > Subject: Re: Proof that guns are not deadly > > > I believe Texas has a law that says if someone comes on your property at > night and you think they're going to steal something, you can shoot them. ______________________________________________________________________ Structure your ColdFusion code with Fusebox.
