  Wow. In Florida, use of deadly force is legal only in the presence of a threat to 
 life or a threat of great bodily harm to you or people around you. And they have a
 "legal test" for it. 1: Is there a verbal or implied threat. 2: Is there the means 
 for the perp to carry out the threat. 3: Are you honestly in "fear" of your life.


  Florida also recognizes "forcible felonies" for which deadly force may be used to 
 stop the commission of: sexual assault, armed robbery, arson, and about 9 others. The
 funniest one is treason. Also, once the act has been committed, you can't do anything.

  So, you can shoot the guy who's shooting up a playground. But once he stops, you
 can't shoot him anymore.
