I find it rather scary that the person who shot the Exchange student didn't just slam 
the door in the kid's face and instead opted for shooting him. There is something very 
wrong with that.

I remember a few years ago there was an exchange student from Japan who was trying to 
find a halloween party in Texas, I
believe.  He went to the wrong house and, when he could not explain himself to the 
satisfaction of the homeowner (he did
not speak very much English) the homeowner shot and killed him.  The homeowner claimed 
that the student was making some
kind of threatening gestures (of course, he was just trying to explain what he was 
looking for) and was not charged with
a crime.

Very sad...
