The fact that we don't know how to tell the difference between our enemies and our allies and we are just as scared of our allies as our enemies is why we keep losing.
I'm not saying it is the fault of our troops. None the less, if our troops are of a mindset that even the guys that are supposed to be helping us are just as likely to be enemies, then our troops treat everyone like savages. And then amoral behavior like West's happens because he doesn't think of the guy in front of him as being an equal human being. And you think of the behavior as being minor because you don't think of the guy as being an equal human being. He's a faceless brown dude like all the brown dudes who tried repeatedly to blow you up. It sucks that West couldn't rise above that mindset. It is understandable but it completely disqualifies him a leader of men in my book. And I do agree with you about declarations of war. We need to stop the endless state of undeclared war. We're never going to win a war on "terror" because terror isn't a thing, it isn't a people, and this war isn't keeping us safe.
