We're not discussing fault for the current system. The status of the VA
is the
issue. It's current state of dysfunction is the result of it being a
"government-run"
healthcare system. It's just the nature of a bureaucracy trying to run what
should be a free-enterprise system. It's terribly inefficient and
ineffective for as
a whole. (And yes, Eric, it works well for those that it is able to
service. But the
problem is, it is not able to service everyone well, and some, not at all.)

In the end, with Obamacare, or a true single-payer system, if it's run
by the
government without competition for its services, it will end up working
as well
as the VA. And there will be so-called "death-panels", which is a scary word
of bureaucrats sitting around deciding what healthcare treatments to ration
once they realize they can't pay for everything for everyone.
