Yea instead of being taken to fly into ab uilding. :) after 9/11 people wont think it will strictly be the old style take me to a country and park. It will be flying into buildings and killing masses of people. I think the point of the training is to minimize the risks as much as possible, as well as the ammunition that will be used will be less likely to puncture the hull.
An airmarshall could also miss when he's firing as well. Its debatable about having weapons in the cockpit but unless they can guarantee to have a marshall on every flight they should go back to how it was before 1984, when pilots were Allowed to have guns. This isn't a new thing it was removed around time of good old Ronny. And I don't remember hereing about masses of planes dropping out of the sky because of it. In reality I think with stronger cockpit doors you are pretty safe as long as a pilot wont open the door even if he's watching his flight attendants get their throats slit but we'll see. Can always throw the planes into a steep deep or roll, commercial aviation planes are quite durable and would be able to handle that type maneuver and I am pretty sure it would incapacitate the person until the rest of the passengers could take care of them.
