I don't really know what the prob. was with mine.  I tested the machine
several times by pulling out cards one at a time and all that, but that
didn't work.  Finally, I completely removed every electrical cord that was
attached to my MB, including the little PC speaker, power button, and HD
light cords and then plugged them back in.  Well, what do you know .. it
started.  That was so weird.  Has anyone run across anything like that
before?  I've had a lot of experience with hardware and this is a first for
me.
