There's a very big difference. You're comparing apples and oranges. The Jews in 
Biblical times _were commanded by God_ to conquer the land. There is no such 
commandment today. In fact, there are several Rabbis who have advocated giving land 
for peace if it will save lives. That's the key: If it will save lives. So far it 
hasn't.

The Jews today are not trying to kill the Arabs. They want only to live in peace, and 
react only in self-defense. Yes, they've made incursions into Gaza -- in reaction to 
terrorism and in an attempt to root out the terrorists (which have not been given to 
them by Arafat). The Arabs are out to destroy them. The Arabs claim that they are 
doing God's will, but they aren't. Show me where in the Bible it says "Thou shalt 
drive the Jews into the sea." 

(I say Arabs above, not Palestinians, because technically there never was a Palestine 
as they want you to believe and the whole concept was a fabrication by the Arab 
League. But that's another long post and another can of worms ...)
