It's not just this thread in particular. In fact, this thread turned into a
friendly word-play more than anything.

But there has been a fairly steady anti-Gallic sentiment lately everywhere I
turn that has been more than just a political disagreement with the French
government. When jokes talk about how the French all smell bad or are
"surrender monkeys", how is that different than saying that the Japanese are
all "slopeheads", blacks are all criminals, or Jews are all greedy? I
honestly don't see the difference.
