I think I can donate a 20GB ATA 66(?) drive. Not a whole lot, but it's what I've got spare right now. It'll be after the weekend, though, since I need to move my system off it to the new 160 I bought.
On the other hand, if we've got the cash donations going, Office Depot has 160GB Maxtor 7200rpm 8MB cache drives for $150 before a $50 mail-in, getting it down to about $100, which might be a better solution. The DVD-Rom is an Apple rebrand from a Panasonic subsidiary. I've got an identical one in my box at home. I will warn you that it took some tinkering to get the BIOS to talk to it properly but that may have been the fact that my bios is old. I can't remember exactly what I did to fix the problem. If you need any cabling, I can probably oblige. Depending on the case, it may need case fans. Same for a chip fan, heatsink, etc. If there's anything else I can do, let me know. -- Ben Doom Programmer & General Lackey Moonbow Software, Inc : -----Original Message----- : From: Haggerty, Mike [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] : Sent: Thursday, July 17, 2003 5:27 PM : To: CF-Community : Subject: RE: It's dead jim : : : Alright folks, we are doing pretty well here.
