Ritalin is proven effective...at least in masking the problem...but it
can't be a great solution long term. It has the same effects on the
brain as cocaine...

I agree with you guys, however -- my point is that ritalin is preferable
to
a constant barrage of negative reinforcement. However, strategies that
work
around the issue are better still... for instance, when teaching the
kids I
keep actual time when I am talking and they are expected to listen to a
minimum. I encourage personal research. Etc. Nobody ever said eduaction
ha
to happen in 50 minute increments, or if they did they did they were
wrong.
