Don't get a Weimeraner. I love mine but they are very trying. And
require a lot of maintenance. Sounds like you are looking towards
smaller dogs anyway.

We are in a detached condo, and the condo docs list Sheperds, Huskies,
PitBulls, Pinchers, and any dog that has a mix of these breeds as
outlawed. Kind of sucks but thems the rules. There are a lot of kids in
the nieghborhood so I can understand the logic behind these breeds. It
takes a bad owner to create a bad dog, and some of the people in my
neighborhood are real winners ;)

I'm not really familiar with Scottie's, but I've had a terrier (of
unknown
type) & poodle mix in the past. Very smart and affectionate, although a
bit
overyly bonded (in other words, suffering from separation anxiety).
What are the neighborhood restrictions? There are mini-husky type dogs,
or
an American Eskimo has many of the characteristics of a husky but is
much
smaller.
