Basically, this guy spent a lot of time talking with, observing, and
hanging out with the Dalai Lama. The DL didn't actually write any of
the book, but he is quoted heavily and there are many stories about him
and transcripts of conversations with him.
But it's really an excellent book. Don't let the fact that someone else
wrote it deter you.
