Seconded, it's a really excellent book that can genuinely help when you
are feeling down, some of the other books by the Dali Lama can be quite
heavy going if you are not a Buddhist so be a little careful if you
order any others.

It's not written by the Dali Lama, per se, but is based on conversations
with him and is, IMHO, absolutely wonderful.
