Possibly they jack up the prices of the HDDs.  Possibly they don't know
what they are doing.  Possibly, they have a business model that somehow
means that they can do this, whereas my company's business model doesn't.

Are you sure that this is for laptops, and not towers?  Because a tower
takes like, 15 min max, and a laptop can (but doesn't always) take
hours.  To replace the HDD or optical drive in a 12-inch powerbook, for
example, means stripping it down to parts (literally).

If you know people who have used them, ask about their experience.  Also
ask the people why it's so cheap.  If they don't give you an answer that
makes sense, worry.
