Thanks for the reply, Ryan! I hadn't considered that I was using too new a
version of Java... Hmmm, I did get the latest version from the Sun site.
Any idea how old a version of Java I would need? Haha

With the number of licenses we own, I can spend quite a bit more time on
trying to get CF 6 on CentOS. In all honesty, getting CentOS running on
this old test server was more headache. But the goal of the exercise was to
see how well our sites would run on it and just how much work might lie
ahead of us in migrating from Windows to Linux. I was very impressed with
getting CF 7 installed and running, worked as I expected, too bad the same
has not been true for CF 6.

Thanks again for your reply!

Paul maybe you are using a newer version of Java than what CFMX 6 supports?

How much time have you spent on this problem? Time is money... they
should just buy the license. Although I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir.

guru, I have been around the block a number of times and am fairly
proficient at ferreting out dependency issues and getting software
installed. However, I just cannot get CFMX 6.1 running on CentOS 4.4... I
can get CFMX 7 trial running on it, no problems... Works well... The
problem is that my company doesn't want to shell out the upgrade costs on
CFMX to go from 6 to 7.

Java errors... It has been a couple weeks since I last attempted a CFMX 6
install and cannot recall the exact lib it was blowing up on. I gave up and
loaded CFMX 7... But now the trial will be wrapping up. I loaded 7 just to
see if we could get our websites running, we're currently in a Windows
environment with CFMX 6. But, we would like to eventually move to CentOS
because of other needs and break the Windows apron strings.

would be great. I only found one instance in all my searching online of
anyone person actually claiming to have CFMX 6 installed on a specific
version of CentOS, but it was CentOS 3.6. I would try that in a minute, if
I could get old versions! Anyone know where a repository of 3.x versions
are? 2 is a little too old for me:)
