I have updated my previous installation using the CFMX 6.1 updater1. It also, runs 'out of the box'. It runs against the same JRE - 1.4.2b28. However, CFMX 6.1 u1 has been 'certified' by Adobe to run against the 1.4.2_11 JVM. It does require a patch to resolve NullPointerExceptions that will appear if you are using CFLDAP or CFServlet. The first technote will also indicate how to update your JVM. The 1.4.2_13 JVM appears to work also, although it is unsupported. But, so is CentOS for that matter ;-).
