According to Adobe, Linux ran slightly slower in response time than did it's windows counterpart.
http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/whitepapers/pdf/6_1/cfmx61_performa ncebrief.pdf We've found that to be the case as well with internal testing. We haven't tested CF 8 yet however to see if this holds true. We used to be exclusively a Linux shop until we discovered the support from Macromedia was SO MUCH better if you were using Windows. So we switched. Haven't had a single stability or performance issue. We have a client (http://www.wilton.com) that has 6 of their properties on a single machine, running MX7 using windows 2003 Standard and we rarely have to do anything but rotate the logs. This is a dual cpu machine (about 2 years old now) that averages over 30 requests a second and peaks near 60. I used to be an OS snob. Now, not so much. I'm just a application platform snob now :) Mike Chytracek Managing Partner Ignite Solutions p. 312.239.0032 c. 815.302.3507 f. 866.839.7896 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;160198600;22374440;w Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Linux/message.cfm/messageid:4379 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Linux/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.14
