I just installed Win2k and CF5 on a new server. I noticed (only after installing CF5) that I've got a few Merant ODBC drivers. I assume they were installed with CF5. There's a Merant text driver and an Excel driver now, in addition to the MS text and Excel drivers. Is there a story behind why these were include with CF? I see that the log viewer uses the Merant text driver, so I'm guessing that's the reason for the text driver, but why the Excel driver?
Does the dBase/FoxPro driver support both reading and writing to dBase files? IIRC, the write capability was removed from Microsoft's dBase and FoxPro drivers starting with something like MDAC 2.0.
