Make sure only one application is listening on each port. For example,
only one Web server is allowed to listen on port 80 (or 8080 or any
other port). A free tool like TCPView shows this info. Windows 7 shows
this in the Resource Monitor.

The CF installer often hangs during the install process. It happens
even on successful installs. After it hangs try visiting CFAdmin in
the Web browser. If CFAdmin comes up then it is likely the install
worked.
