In the CF admin, map session variables onto the J2EE session mechanism. 
That's step 1. In order to have server failover, you need to modify the 
JRun configuration to do this. I don't know how, off the top of my head, 
but I suspect it's only possible with the full JRun 4 product, not the 
'captive' version installed under CFMX (in which case you'd need the 
forthcoming "ColdFusion MX for J2EE" Edition and JRun 4 installed).
