Ahh... that's a bit more complicated... iirc Outlook will do this sort of thing if it's properly configured, but I don't remember it being a terribly graceful thing -- it requires each user to change a setting in the options when they sit down.
Using akmail or probably the Bat ( looks a lot like akmail ) or SecureBat you could probably configure all accounts for each employee on each client machine and set them all to leave mail on the server ... It wouldn't work ( at least not well ) for a company with more than about a dozen employees tho, and it wouldn't prevent any given employee from reading other employees' email at will. Even if that privacy isn't an issue internally, it's also a sticky issue with defining when you remove mail from the server because if the client on their usual workstation does it, they'll go to another machine and expect email to be there and it won't because it's already been downloaded and removed from the server by their own workstation. Iirc akmail ( at least the current english version ) only deletes the local copy when you hit delete on a given message... I'd say Outlook is probably your best bet -- although Outlook security imho is garbage. It lays open the entire VBA to macros, you can't disable html, etc, etc. the MS Address Book and html email viewer are the primary means by which recent virii like Klez get circulated. hth S.
